Fosgate 6cd head units

OK so I have two OEM 6cd head units. Both look identical, except one has a "Rockford Fosgate" logo on the front, p/n 28185 EA400, mfg date Sept. 04. The other has no logo, p/n 28185 EA200, mfg date Dec. 05. The latter one supposedly came from my 05 KC, the first from a crushed Fronty or Pathfinder.

My truck currently has a inexpensive Kenwood single CD head unit, upgraded speakers, and a Rockford Fosgate 750watt external amp. I would like to replace this head unit with one...

I've checked other strings but I don't see a clear answer.

I have a 2002 CC with a factory installed Rockford Fosgate 6 CD Changer (PY110). Is there a separate amp for this unit? If so, where is it?

I have an older Pioneer CD player in my truck (DEH-5), the stereo doesn't have any inputs besides the CD player and the antenna. Right now Im running a cheap (<$10) fm transmitter and it works decent after some modifications. The problem is, that I think Im overdriving the modulator in it when I turn up the volume on my iPod much over 1/2 or so.
Any good guitar rips, there is static unless I turn the volume down on the ipod and up on the stereo. Hence the problem, I end up with...

2001 Frontier King Cab with the OEM Subwoofer. How do you remove that unit from the back wall? What suggestions for replacement. I'm sure the surround has disintegrated like the door speakers did.

2000 Crew Cab Factory MP3 Players? Any?

I have a 2000 Crew Cab and I was wondering if there is a factory stereo (any Nissan model) which could just bolt right up into my Frontier. I don't need the 6 disc dealio, one is plenty. However, it must have MP3 capability. Is there any such (OEM) stereo which Nissan has available? Or should I just get an aftermarket stereo and try and find a pocket to go under it to fill the other half of the double DIN opening? If so, who makes a good pocket unit for these vehicles? TIA!

Scoche battery terminal

in my 05 crew cab, but alas, the unique OEM terminal makes me wonder if this is possible. Anyone change their positive terminal on the 2nd gen? Is it even possible?

Anyone here install a drop down yet in their second gen?

I have had this DVD player sitting here for two years and have decided to install myself. I have installed sound systems before, but securing to the roof/headliner is the issue I am not 100% keen on....that and how to exactly drop the liner.

Anyone that can share their experience on those as well as how the wiring went for them would be great.

Antenna Replacement Question

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has done this...
I want to replace my OEM whip antenna with one of those short, amplified antennas that you see on the newer cars. You know the one, it is usually mounted on the roof, in the back of the vehicle. I want to mount on on my Frontier, on the roof in the center, at the rear of the roof.

Does anyone have any input, suggestions, etc...?

The only ones I can find ate at the dealer, for other Nissan vehicles. The parts guys are...

Subwoofer polarity 2001 SC Fronty

I just replaced my door speakers. The passenger side door speaker was trashed. The cone had completely separated form the cloth/foam surround.

Anyway, I was meticulously checking to make sure I installed the new speakers with the same/correct polarity as the OEM speakers. What I discovered is that either the OEM's were opposite polarity to the subwoofer, OR that the new speakers worked better being opposite to the OEM's.

After installing with the "correct" polarity,...

Are the factory wires in my 02 CC RF system decent enough to run an upgraded system? I'm not doing a super upgrade, looking at about 50w RMS to all the door speakers. I know that upgrading the wires would be preferable, but if they will do, then that would be one less thing for me to mess with...

Positive Battery Terminal

Has anyone tried to replace their postive battery terminal with an aftermarket one? I just bought an optima battery and it's a tight fit to get the postive clamp on because of the right angle bend in the terminal. I'm not sure if there is a fusable link in the positive termnal.

Has anyone replaced the door speakers on your truck yet? Mine is a 2001 SC 4x4 KC with the multi disc and subwoofer. Is there any issue with replacing the door 6" with a regular coax type of speaker? If so, what size fits? I've not opened up the door yet to see exactly what size it is. Anyway, it's started to go bad, as has the driver's door tweeter.

Line Converter Removal?

So I had a local place install my amps. A moment of weakness, I think.

Anyway, they used line out converters b/c my amps did not have speaker level inputs, and the factory Panasonic (Rockford Fosgate) head unit did not have line level outs.

Now, I installed a head unit that does not have speaker level outs, only line level. Do I have to remove the line out converters, or can I simply turn up the gain on them all the way? The line out converters are model PAC...
