Just a few days ago my 2005 Frontier 4x4 Nismo with the 4.0 engine started to make a high pitched whining sound. It gets louder and changes pitch as rpms climb. I have looked for TSB's and found nothing on this matter. I am scheduled to take it to the dealer on Thursday but when I had the 2,200 rpm intake rattle they knew nothing about it so I had to print out the TSB for them.
The biggest problem with the FJ is visibility, it's like looking out of the front window of a MD-80 (FJ) compared to the bubble canopy on an F-16 (Xterra).
Not only is the rear visibility on the FJ bad but the front and side visibility is awful too.

I have looked at the FJ a couple times, It just hasn't grown on me yet.

I dont like the two tone paint.

I dont like the suicide rear doors.

I do like the body lines on the front half.

It looks like two different people designed the front and the back halves without consulting each other.

I agree there is still a big unknown on these engines, but I figure we run that with any new generation of vehicle.

fixed for awhile. Now it's back again and now out of warranty!! I'm concerend when I hear about metal on metal contact. Not sure if this is the same
issue as that one or not. I think there was a TSB about the cold sound and I thought it was having to do with the tensioner but not sure.

anyone on here that has done one yet, at home. The Tensioners where gone, plastic worn right out and chains were rubing on metal, the chains were starting to
kink do the the metal to metal contact. This is something that needs attention asap and not something that people should continue to drive.
