TUNFS Rules and Guidelines

Please follow the following to ensure your visit is a pleasant one.
1.) Signature Guidelines:
These guidelines will greatly speed up the loading time on boards you visit if followed. TUNFS mods and Admins will edit any post breaking these rules/guidelines:
- Graphics signatures may be 20K MAXIMUM, and preferably less. They may be no more than 200 pixels high and 400 pixels wide. The smaller the file size the quicker the image loads. Reducing width and height tags using HTML does NOT reduce the size of the image physically.
- Ensure your graphics are the smallest size they can be (ie: gif format, compressed quality, etc)
- A graphic signature may be used once per thread. If you accidently post the sig more than once, please edit it out.
- You are allowed your name, up to three lines of text, a personal weblink and a graphic in your signature. No moving signatures or graphics are allowed.
(There is no need to list every mod your truck has in your sig. A signature is just to identify you or maybe what kind of truck you have. If you put a link to your website, then those who are interested in ALL of your truck mods, will click on it. You could also list your mods in your profile.)
1.1) Regardless of how long your signature is, and whether or not it fits the above mentioned guidelines, if your signature is longer than your post, it is too long!
1.2) Personal Photo (avatar):
This is the small 60x60 pixel box that appears below your screen name. It may be a moving image, but it may not exceed 10K, and preferably be less.
1.3) Any signature or avatar that contains foul language or links to pornography is not allowed.
1.3.1) DO NOT direct link to any images that are not your own without permission from the website owner. Bandwidth theft is a very serious issue that can lead to being banned from our forum as well as legal problems of your own.
Do not use any other TUNFS member's graphics without their permission.
1.4) No signature or avatar may alter the format or overall look of the message board. NO redirects are allowed. Violation of this may be cause for immediate banishment. Please be careful when using HTML. Make sure your coding is correct. The most common mistake is to leave off a closing tag. If you're not sure what that is, perhaps you should not be using HTML.
1.5) Moderators may give THREE warnings for signature violations, after which a user ban may be enforced due to non compliance. If you do not have your Private Messaging turned on or email address listed in your profile, you will not receive any warnings, as we have no way to get them to you. Warnings will not be made public on the forums.
2.) Do not spam!
Spammers are subject to banning. Advertisements for your PERSONAL ITEMS are allowed ONLY in the For Sale or Trade board provided you follow the guidelines posted there. Your email address must be in the ad, as it is a no-reply forum. Please let us know if your ad needs to be removed before the 60 days allowed. Do not link to eBay or any other auction or commercial site for the sale of your commercial item. Commercial (retail) ads are not allowed there. Duplicating your ad more than once or placing it into other forums may be considered spam.
Creating a membership to TUNFS for the sole purpose of placing an ad will also be considered spam.
NEW MEMBERS must have at least 10 posts before they can place an ad.
3.) Do not flame!
TUNFS is a means for people to express different opinions and ideas. Never insult anybody because they do not agree with your point of view. This is one way for you to lose all credibility for your personal reputation.
3.1) No derogatory posts about dealerships, particularly Nissan dealerships. You may give recommendations of dealerships you like, however. Any derogatory posts will have the dealership name and city edited out, or the post removed entirely.
3.2) Calling a dealership a "stealership" or similar is also considered an insult, and therefore not allowed.
4.) Treat others with respect!
Always give others on TUNFS the same treatment and respect you would want them to give you.
Always respect the other person's age, sex, race etc. No matter how much or how little someone knows, they still deserve the same respect as everyone else. Remember, you started out not knowing much either. However, it is very difficult to respect a flamer, spammer etc.
5.) Have fun and meet new people from all over!
You will "meet" so many wonderful people on TUNFS and the Internet! It is a great way to build personal and business relationships. So welcome to TUNFS, start a conversation and just have some fun.
6.) BEWARE!!!!
It is FORBIDDEN that you post any links to illegal or pornographic activities, or boards discussing such activities. This includes, but is no limited to: warez, hacking sites or instructions, etc... This is cause for immediate banishment without warning.
It is against the rules (as well as illegal) to offer or ask for copies of copyrighted materials. This includes, but is not limited to: software, music, or published materials such as service manuals. This is also a bannable offense.
7.) Inappropriate language:
Please keep your language respectful. Disagreements happen, but as adults (mostly...) we should be able to discuss our differences without resorting to foul language or insulting the other person. If you cannot control yourself, you will be asked to leave.
7.1.) Purposefully misspelling words or substituting characters to defeat the language filter is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to substituting "$" for s, "@" for "a", and similar tricks.
8.) Additionally...
NO re-directs of any kind used in any posts/topics, NO using style sheets to change this board look or design. Any coding within a post or sig HTML that alters the look or functionality of our forums is prohibited. Any violation of this may result in banning without any kind of notice. Do NOT add music of any kind to a post; please leave a link to the music file (any copyrighted material links will be edited.)
Messages posted to this board by members are solely the opinion and responsibility of the person posting the message, and are not associated with Nissan Motor Company/ Nissan Motor Company USA.
Moderators reserve the right to move threads/topics to different forums if the thread/topic seems to fit in a different forum better. This is not to cause frustration, but to make the board better serve it's members.
Posts can be deleted without notice based on the judgement of the moderators and the rules set forth here.
