No income taxes here in Texas but the sales tax rate is around 8.25% that includes 6.25% to the state and the other 2% to the citiy and/or county. I like your format better. you think you like the texas format better, wait till you pay texas property tax... My sales tax runs about 9% My property tax runs about the 1/2% of the last appraisal value of my house then I just pay state and federal income tax... On your federal taxes you only get to deduct the $4K in state taxes from your federal (plus the lower property taxes) while here there's the "standard sales tax deduction" (mine was about $4K last year) plus that 6-10K in real estate taxes fom your federal.
