Can anyone tell me which gear oil I should use in my rear differential? I have a 2005 V6 LE 4x4 KC AUTO. The owner's manual differentiates between those w/ or w/o "6-speed manual transmission or O/R". I don't know if "O/R" includes 4x4. I can't get a clear answer from the dealership about what to use or even what kind of axle I have. The axle code is CA31.

You should have the c200 axle (only nismo's and SE 6 speeds get the m226 axle). It takes 75w-90 Gear oil. I'm not sure if it needs to be synthetic, but you're probably better off putting it in. My info says it takes 1.7 quarts.

Hey EB, is that 1.7 for both front/rear? The Haynes just says to drain them and replace the amount taken out. Gee thanks..
Anyone else use Royal Purple instead of the GL-5? |

FSM says .85L or 1.75 pts of gear oil for the front diff.
